Adesimisola graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice with a minor in Africana Studies from the University at Albany, SUNY. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration with concentrations in Crime Policy, Education Policy and Policy Analysis.  Throughout her undergraduate year, Adesimisola was heavily involved on campus and held various leadership roles. Due to the lack of inclusion, diversity and safe spaces for women of color on the University at Albany campus, during her sophomore year, Adesimisola and some of her fellow students founded the SUNY Albany Chapter of the National Congress of Black Women. The National Congress of Black Women is a historically and significant nationwide organization that empowers Black women in all aspects of life. As political action chair and programming chair, Adesimisola has helped to increase the membership of the SUNY Albany Chapter for 2 years. Aside from her on campus involvement, Adesimisola was a recipient of the Luks Family Scholarship, President’s Award for Leadership: Outstanding Senior Award, Spelman Award for Academic Achievement Award from 2015-2018, as well as being on Dean’s List all four years of her undergraduate year. Adesimisola has worked as an intern for the Brennan Center for Justice, The Ford Foundation, The New York State Senate, and the New York State Education Department.  Upon graduation, Adesimisola would love to use her knowledge and passion to help advocate for marginalized communities and help to enforce equity in the criminal justice and education system.
