Daiki Yoshioka is a junior at Binghamton University, majoring in Comparative Literature and Philosophy. He graduated from the Sam Draper Honors Program at Rockland Community College with A.A. in Liberal Arts Humanities and Social Sciences. He is originally from Japan and has stayed in the United States for 2 years. 

Daiki is interested and has been involved in two areas: campus politics and education. First, he serves as the Congress Representative from the off-campus community at Binghamton University. Previously, he was a Sophomore Senator of the Student Government Association at Rockland Community College while serving as the Special Event Leader of Student Activities Board.

Second, Daiki has worked as a peer tutor since his freshman year at 3 different Writing Centers and 1 general Tutoring Center. Currently, he is working as the Writing Peer Tutor at the Writing Initiative at Binghamton University. Being attracted to the field of education, Daiki serves as the Pearson Online Student Insider. He also serves as the Japanese Language Coordinator at the Coursera Global Translator Community with a hope of spreading MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) in Japan.

Coming to the United States as an international student from a low-income family, Daiki’s goal is to work toward the educational equality. Within the Student Assembly, he aspires to ensure students voices to be heard and to seek viable solutions. Simultaneously, he plans to increase involvement of more international students as well as students from marginalized backgrounds.
